PDC 2015 Annual Meeting

The PDC 2015 Annual Member Meeting is Saturday, February 21! Featured Speaker is Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren, who will discuss what is going on in Washington under the new Republican leadership of both Houses of Congress with special attention to the issue of immigration reform. This event is open to the public (Unaffiliated members of the public will be charged $5 or join the PDC onsite and join the luncheon for free!). Lunch is free for PDC members and we will also elect the 2015 PDC Board Members and Officers! 11:30 am - 2 p.m. Saturday, February 21 at the Los Altos Youth Center, 1 N. San Antonio Road, Los Altos.

 

 

Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren represents the 19th Congressional District which encompasses much of Silicon Valley.  First elected in 1994 after serving on the Evergreen Community College Board and then 14 years on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, Congresswoman Lofgren is a national leader on the issue of immigration reform.  She was chair and is now ranking member of the Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security of the House Judiciary Committee.  She also serves on the Committee on Science and Technology and the Committee on House Administration.

 

 

 

Congresswoman Lofgren is also deeply involved in the issues of patent reform, copyright questions, digital rights and net neutrality.  She has expressed particular concern about unwarranted government surveillance of individual American citizens.  She is highly respected both in the Congress and in California where she serves as chair of the  California Democratic Delegation.  This delegation of 38 Democrats is the largest and most diverse in the nation.
