Our timely guest speaker is Larry Diamond,MA, PhD, on “Status of Democracy: Succeeding or Failing?”

Larry Diamond is a leading scholar of democracy. A senior fellow at the Hoover Institution and at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, he directed FSI’s Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law for six years.

Professor Diamond is the author of six books on democracy. His most recent book is In Search of Democracy (2016), in which he explores the challenges confronting democracy and democracy promotion, based on his three decades of work on democratic development.  He has won outstanding teaching awards at Stanford, and always has provocative--and uplifting--comments on the future of our democracy.
